I'm giving clay another chance to decide if I want to continue doing this or not.  So here are the first pieces which are ready to be fired.  My intention is to use the 25# bag only for faces or small sculptures.  By the time I finish off the 25 lbs. of clay, I'll have a better feeling about whether to continue with clay or not.

Words and Herbs...finally!

I can't believe it has been over a YEAR since I have been in my studio.  Our sweet puppy, Cleo, arrived in October, 2012 and has kept both Ralph and myself very busy.  She is now 10 months old and more independent, so I have had the time and urge to create something in clay.  It is summertime and even though I have not planted much in the garden (as Cleo loves all things edible),  I still enjoy watching new plants as they appear in the garden.  I love words and decided to add some to my garden, either for inspiration or direction.  They also make great gifts, so I like having extras!    I'm kinda stuck on the bold blue glaze, but have more coming out of the kiln this week....

I'll post a picture of our beautiful little Cleo.  She is sweet miniature labradoodle and almost full grown, physically that is.  Mentally I think she will continue to be a puppy for at least another year!  She is lots of fun and a good example of how to be present in the moment.

Something to Crow About...it is Finished!

I LOVE to start projects, but am pretty light when it comes to completing them.
I thought up this one when I couldn't find what I wanted for the bath in my studio.
Thanks to a friendly nudge or two, I finished this yesterday.  I am crazy about
crows so included parts from Poe's poem "The Raven" on the bottom.

All in all it was pretty easy, just a vinyl shower curtain and a jumbo Sharpie!

Just in Time for Spring

I finished some of the herb marker and words for the garden last week to sell on Etsy and at a few art guilds around town.  Love that garden blue!!

Winged Pot

I put some legs on this little cylinder and then thought it needed feet.  Before long it had to have a tail, and then some wings!  I was actually going for rabbit type ears, maybe next time!

I'm Captivated by Gargoyles

This is my 2nd attempt to create a gargoyle.  Much smaller and a bit more menacing than the first, but still not quite what I had in mind.  I'll probably use an iron oxide stain rather than a glaze.  I left a small how in the back so he can hang around my studio!
